Nu Flesh is Niteppl's second studio album and first with new addition Sawyer James on lead vocals and production. The album is a dramatic departure from the largely instrumental space-disco gems littering Niteppl's past, instead focusing on songwriting and merging classic pop aesthetic with contemporary production styles; think The Beach Boys meets Justice. Nu Flesh is a sequel of sorts to the duo's 2013 debut Cult and continues the narrative and cinematic flourishes that have become staples of the former solo-project turned partnership. Niteppl's work on Nu Flesh breaks the barriers of genre; in writing the album the goal of the duo was to create a record that was dense with sonic detail and could be listened to over and over with still more auditory secrets to be discovered. Each of the nine songs on the LP work on different levels of musical style.
